                   Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra
                   Young People’s Concert

Tuesday, April 16th
Leave after 1st mod (9:15 a.m.)
Return to school 12:00
Pizza Lunch in the Park

Orchestra Festival Intermediate, Advanced & Golden Strings


Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra students will perform April 1st at North Valleys High School in the WCSD Orchestra Festival. 

***Please look for your student's performance clothing: black BDB Performing Arts shirt, black pants or skirt (covers knees when sitting), black socks or nylons, black shoes.
STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT IN CORRECT PERFORMANCE CLOTHING OR WHO FORGET THEIR INSTRUMENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE AND WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT.

Here's the schedule that day:

7:30     Arrive at school dressed in orchestra performance uniform,
go to Advisory and first mod (2nd period)
8:45     Leave first mod early, get instruments and go out to the bus loading area
load buses and vehicles, take roll
9:20     Arrive North Valleys
9:35     Intermediate Orchestra to warm-up/tuning, Advanced to audience, keep instruments
10:00   Intermediate Orchestra performs
10:25   Intermediate to Judges Feedback Clinic
10:50   Advanced Orchestra to warm-up/tuning, Intermediate to audience
11:15   Advanced Orchestra performs
11:40   Advanced Orchestra to Judges Feedback Clinic
12:05   All to lunch in the cafeteria –
Golden Strings, first in line and eat fast then go directly to warm-up/tuning
12:30   Golden Strings performs, all Intermediate & Advanced students to audience
12:55   Golden Strings to Judges Feedback Clinic, Intermediate & Advanced load buses
1:30     Return to Billinghurst, Intermediate returns to class if enough time (6th period, 5th mod)

You need to practice all 8th note passages 10X each for coordination and intonation.  Use a tuner or tuner app if you have one.

More than 240 minutes = Extra Credit    *160 – 240 minutes = A *140 – 159 minutes = B
*120 – 139 minutes = C  *100 – 119 minutes = D *Less than 100 minutes = F (an F is higher than a zero!)
